حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ:

جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلَا مَطَرٍ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: لِكَيْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined in Madinah between Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr without fear or rain. I said to Ibn ʿAbbās: For what reason did he do that? He said: So as not to place his ummah in difficulty.
