machine translationʿUmārah b. Abī Ḥafṣah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. It was narrated from Shuʿbah, from ʿUmārah, from ʿAbdullāh b. Buraydah, from Ṣaʿṣaʿah, from ʿAlī, from the Prophet ﷺ; Mughīrah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥarrānī said that, from Yaḥyā b. al-Sakan, from Shuʿbah. Yaḥyā b. Abī Ṭālib contradicted him: he narrated it from Yaḥyā b. al-Sakan, from Abū Jazī, from ʿUmārah, from Ibn Buraydah, from Ṣaʿṣaʿah, as a mursal report. Likewise Masʿūd b. Juwayriyah said, from Ismāʿīl b. Ziyād, from Abū Jazī. Ḥusām b. Miṣakk narrated this hadith from Ibn Buraydah, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ. Sallām Abū al-Mundhir said, from Maṭar al-Warrāq, from Ibn Buraydah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from the Prophet ﷺ; Muḥammad b. ʿUmar al-Qaṣṣī said that from him. ʿUthmān b. Makhlad al-Tammār contradicted him and said: from Sallām, from Maṭar, from Abū Buraydah, from Ibn ʿAbbās.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationNo one narrates this hadith, meaning as a connected report (mawṣūl), except Ḥusām. Muslim narrated to us, from Ḥusām, from Ibn Buraydah, that the Prophet ﷺ... I said: which of the two is more sound? He said: This is from Ḥusām, and Ḥusām is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī).

    in مسند البزار, p. 4478
  • Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī

machine translationIn its chain is Ḥusām b. Miṣakk, and there is consensus that he is weak (ḍaʿīf).
