حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ، قَالَا: أَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، قَالَ: نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعَشَاءِ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى، وَالضُّحَى وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى، هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

Translation

  4. ʿAbdullāh b. Buraydah

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Maghrib and Isha and the night prayer: "When it covers" (al-Layl), and "The Morning Brightness" (al-Duha). And he used to recite in Zuhr and Asr: "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" (al-A'la) and "Has there come to you the report of the Overwhelming?" (al-Ghashiyah).
