حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، وَعَامِرُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ يَقُولُ:
سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ، وَزَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ ؓ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ، فَقَالَا: كُنَّا تَاجِرَيْنِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ، فَقَالَ: مَا كَانَ مِنْ يَدٍ بِيَدٍ فَلَا بَأْسَ، وَمَا كَانَ نَسِيئَةً فَلَا يَصْلُحُ
Translation

✧ I asked al-Bara' and Zayd b. Arqam ؓ about money exchange. They said: We were two merchants in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so we asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about money exchange. He said: Whatever is hand to hand, there is no harm, and whatever is on credit is not proper.
