حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: نَا الضَّحَّاكُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
قَدِمَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْتَذْكِرُهُ: كَيْفَ أَخْبَرْتَنِي عَنْ لَحْمِ الصَّيْدِ الَّذِي أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ حَرَامٌ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، أُهْدِيَ لَهُ رِجْلُ أَوْ عُضْوُ لَحْمِ صَيْدٍ فَرَدَّهُ، وَقَالَ: إِنَّا لَا نَأْكُلُهُ، إِنَّا حُرُمٌ

✧ Zayd b. Arqam came, and Ibn Abbas asked him, seeking his recollection: How did you inform me about the meat of game that was gifted to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was in a state of sanctity? He said: Yes, a leg or a limb of game meat was gifted to him, and he returned it, saying: We do not eat it; we are in a state of sanctity.
