Musnad al-Bazzar 416

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ، قَالَ: نَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:

مَا يَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، إِلَّا أَنْ أَكُونَ أَوْعَى أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْهُ، لَكِنْ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ.

✧ Nothing prevents me from narrating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except that I might be the most retentive of his companions regarding him. But I testify that I heard him say: Whoever says about me what I did not say, let him take his seat in the Fire.
