✧ What Fadalah b. 'Ubayd narrated from Abu al-Darda

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ

أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِامْرَأَةٍ مُجِحٍّ عَلَى فُسْطَاطٍ، فَقَالَ: " لَعَلَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُلِمَّ بِهَا " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَلْعَنَهُ لَعْنَةً تَدْخُلُ مَعَهُ قَبْرَهُ كَيْفَ يُوَرِّثُهُ وَهُوَ لَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ ؟ كَيْفَ يَسْتَخْدِمُهُ وَهُوَ لَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ

✧ He passed by a woman who was far along in pregnancy at a tent belonging to a man, and he said: "Perhaps he intends to have illicit relations with her." They said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I was about to curse him with a curse that would enter his grave with him. How can he make him an heir while he is not lawful for him? How can he use him as a servant while he is not lawful for him?"
