وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، وَزُرَيْقُ بْنُ السَّخْتِ، قَالَا: نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا ثُمَّ تُرْفَعُ ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ هِيَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ". قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي أَيَّ لَيْلَةٍ هِيَ ؟ قَالَ: لَوْ أُذِنَ لِي لَأَنْبَأْتُكُمْ أَوْ لَأَنْبَأْتُكَ بِهَا وَلَكِنَّهَا فِي التِّسْعَيْنِ أَوِ السَّبْعَيْنِ وَلَا تَسْأَلْنِي بَعْدَهَا، فَقُلْتُ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَتُخْبِرَنِّي فِي أَيِّ التِّسْعِينَ هِيَ، فَغَضِبَ عَلَيَّ غَضْبَةً لَمْ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا مِثْلَهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَلَمْ أَنْهَكَ أَنْ تَسْأَلَنِي عَنْ هَذَا أَوْ عَنْهَا، قُلْتُ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَتُخْبِرَنِّي قَالَ: أَلَمْ أَنْهَكَ أَنْ تَسْأَلَنِي هِيَ فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ

✧ I said: "O Messenger of Allah, tell me about the Night of Decree: was it sent down upon the prophets to whom revelation came, then it was lifted?" He said: "Rather, it is until the Day of Resurrection." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, tell me which night it is." He said: "If I were permitted, I would inform you all, or inform you, of it, but it is in the nineties or the seventies, and do not ask me after this." I said: "I adjure you, O Messenger of Allah, to inform me in which of the nineties it is." He became angry with me with an anger the like of which he had never been angry with me before or after. Then he said: "Did I not forbid you from asking me about this, or about it?" I said: "I adjure you, O Messenger of Allah, to inform me." He said: "Did I not forbid you from asking me? It is in the last seven."
