حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ، يَقُولُ، قَالَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى:
" لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْدًا مَلَأَ الْأَرْضَ خَطَايَا ثُمَّ لَمْ يُشْرِكْ بِي شَيْئًا غَفَرْتُ لَهُ مِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ خَطَايَا أَوْ قُرَابَ الْأَرْضِ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً وَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ شَيْئًا، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ سَيِّئَةً وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا، وَإِنْ أَتَانِي يَمْشِي أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً

✧ "If a servant were to fill the earth with sins and then not associate anything with Me, I would forgive him an earth full of sins, or nearly the earth's fill. And if he intends a good deed but does not perform it, one good deed is recorded for him, and if he performs it, ten good deeds are recorded. If he intends an evil deed and does not perform it, nothing is recorded. But if he performs it, one evil deed is recorded. And if he draws near to Me a handspan, I draw near to him a cubit. If he draws near to Me a cubit, I draw near to him a fathom. And if he comes to Me walking, I come to him at speed."
