✧ I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ on the stony ground of Madinah while we were looking at Uhud. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'O Abu Dharr.' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of God.' He said: 'I would not like to have gold equal to Uhud with me and let a third night pass while I have a dinar of it, except a dinar I set aside for a debt.' Then he walked and said: 'O Abu Dharr.' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of God.' He said: 'Indeed, those who have the most are the ones with the least on the Day of Resurrection, except one who gives away wealth like this, and like this, and like this.' Then he walked and said: 'O Abu Dharr, stay where you are until I come to you.' He went off and hid from me, and I heard a murmur and voices. I said: 'Perhaps something has happened to the Messenger of God ﷺ.' I wanted to follow him, but I remembered his words: 'Do not leave until I come to you.' I waited until he came back. I told him what I had heard. He said: 'That was Jibril ﷺ. He came to me and said: Whoever of his ummah dies without associating anything with God will enter Paradise, even if he commits adultery and even if he steals.'
