حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ قَالَ:
أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ: أَنْ أَسْمَعَ وَأُطِيعَ وَلَوْ لِعَبْدٍ مُجَدَّعِ الْأَطْرَافِ، وَإِذَا صَنَعْتُ مَرَقَةً أَنْظُرُ أَنْ أُكْثِرَ مَاءَهَا ثُمَّ أَنْظُرُ نَاسًا مِنْ جِيرَانِي فَأُعْطِيهِمْ مِنْهَا أَوْ كَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا، وَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ الْإِمَامَ وَقَدْ صَلَّى فَقَدْ أَجْزَتْكَ صَلَاتُكَ وَإِلَّا فَلَكَ نَافِلَةٌ

✧ My close friend ﷺ enjoined upon me three things: to listen and obey even if the leader is a slave with maimed limbs; when I make a broth, to look to increase its water, then look to people among my neighbors and give them some of it, or words to that effect; and to pray the prayer at its proper time, and if you catch the imam and he has already prayed, then your prayer suffices you, otherwise it is a supererogatory prayer for you.
