✧ Abdullah b. al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, from the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: نَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ يَعْنِي الْبَرَاءَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ خَلِيلِي يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي وَقَالَ: صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِمِيقَاتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ أَوْ أَدْرَكْتَهُمْ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَقُلْ إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فَلَنْ أُصَلِّيَ مَعَهُمْ

✧ I asked my close friend, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, and he struck my thigh and said: 'Pray the prayer at its appointed time. If you catch the prayer with them, then pray with them, and do not say: I have already prayed, so I will not pray with them.'
