✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered a sacrifice, he would buy two fat, horned, black-and-white rams. When he had prayed and delivered the sermon, one of them would be brought to him while he was at his prayer place, and he would slaughter it, then say: 'O Allah, this is on behalf of my entire Ummah, those who testify to Your Oneness and testify that I have conveyed the message.' Then the other would be brought and he would slaughter it and say: 'This is on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.' He would feed both of them to the poor and he and his family would eat from them. He said: We remained for years, and no man of Banu Hashim offered a sacrifice; Allah had spared them the expense and burden through the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
