حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ: نَا دَهْثَمُ بْنُ قُرَّانَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي نِمْرَانُ بْنُ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا، ضَرَبَ رَجُلًا بِسَيْفٍ عَلَى سَاعِدِهِ فَقَطَعَهَا فَاسْتَعْدَى عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِهِ بِالدِّيَةِ فَقَالَ: أُرِيدُ الْقِصَاصَ قَالَ: خُذِ الدِّيَةَ بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِيهَا فَلَمْ يَقْضِ لَهُ بِالْقِصَاصِ
Translation

✧ A man struck another man with a sword on his forearm and cut it off, so he sought redress from the Prophet ﷺ, who ordered blood money for him. He said: 'I want retaliation.' He said: 'Take the blood money, may Allah bless it for you.' So he did not rule retaliation for him.
