✧ “The parents of the Dajjāl will remain for thirty years without a child being born to them. Then a boy will be born to them, one-eyed, most harmful of things and least beneficial. His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep.” Then the Messenger of God ﷺ described his parents: “His father is a tall man, lean-fleshed, as if his nose were a beak, and his mother is broad-chested with long breasts.” Abū Bakrah said: We heard of a newborn among the Jews, so I and al-Zubayr b. al-ʿAwwām went until we entered upon his parents, and they matched the Prophet’s ﷺ description. We said: “Do you have a child?” They said: “We remained thirty years without a child being born to us, then a boy was born to us, one-eyed, most harmful of things and least beneficial. His eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep.” He said: We came out from them and there he was, sprawled in a patch of sunlight, murmuring. I uncovered his head. He said: “What did you say?” We said: “Did you hear what we said?” He said: “Yes, my eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.”
