أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّهِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:

" كُنَّا حَوْلَ صَنَمٍ لَنَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُبْعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِشَهْرٍ، وَقَدْ نَحَرْنَا جَزُورًا، إِذْ صَاحَ صَائِحٌ مِنْ جَوْفِهِ اسْمَعُوا الْعَجَبَ، ذَهَبَ الشِّرْكُ وَالرِّجْزُ، وَرُمِيَ بِالشُّهُبِ لِنَبِيٍّ بِمَكَّةَ اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَمُهَاجَرُهُ إِلَى يَثْرِبَ

✧ "We were around an idol of ours a month before the Prophet ﷺ was sent, and we had slaughtered a camel, when a crier cried out from inside it: 'Listen to the wonder! Polytheism and defilement have gone, and the shooting stars have been sent for a prophet in Makkah whose name is Ahmad, and whose migration is to Yathrib.'"
