✧ Abu Musa ؓ led them in prayer. When he sat for the tashahhud, a man from the people said: "You have joined prayer with righteousness and zakah." When Abu Musa finished, he said: "Which of you said such-and-such a word?" but the people remained silent. He said: "Which of you said such-and-such?" but the people remained silent. He said: "O Hittan, perhaps you said it." I said: "I did not say it, and I feared that you would rebuke me for it." He said: "The Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon to us, explained our sunnah and taught us our prayer, and said: 'When you pray, straighten your rows and let one of you lead you. When he says the takbir, say the takbir. When he says "not of those who earned anger nor of those who went astray," say "Amin," and Allah will answer you. When he says the takbir and bows, then bow, for the imam bows before you and rises before you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'That is for that.' 'When he says "Allah hears the one who praises Him," say: "O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs praise," and Allah will hear you, for Allah, blessed and exalted, said on the tongue of His Prophet ﷺ: "Allah hears the one who praises Him." When he says the takbir and prostrates, then say the takbir and prostrate, for the imam prostrates before you and rises before you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'That is for that.' 'When it is time for sitting, let the first words of one of you be: al-tahiyyat al-tayyibat al-salawat lillah, I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.'
