حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ؓ قَالَ:
" الْمُنَافِقُونَ الَّذِينَ بَيْنَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ أَشَرُّ مِنَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ أَسَرُّوا نِفَاقَهُمْ، وَإِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَعْلَنُوهُ
Translation

✧ The hypocrites who are among you today are worse than the hypocrites who were at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We said, "O Abu 'Abd Allah, how is that?" He said, "Those concealed their hypocrisy, while these make it public."
