✧ The people disapproved of something concerning a ruler in the time of Hudhayfah. A man came into the mosque, the Great Mosque, weaving through the people until he reached Hudhayfah, who was sitting in a circle. He stood over his head and said: "O companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, will you not enjoin good and forbid evil?" Hudhayfah raised his head and understood what he intended. Hudhayfah said to him: "Enjoining good and forbidding evil is indeed good, but it is not from the Sunnah to brandish the sword against your ruler."
