حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ قَالَ:

كُنَّا نَرْقَى فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: اعْرِضُوا عَلَيَّ رُقَاكُمْ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ الرُّقَا مَا لَمْ تَكُنْ شِرْكًا

Translation

✧ We used to perform ruqya in the Jahiliyya, so we said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about that?" He said: "Present to me your ruqas. There is no harm in ruqas as long as they do not involve shirk."
