وَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ؓ قَالَ:

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى بَعِيرٍ مِنَ الْمَقَاسِمِ، ثُمَّ تَنَاوَلَ مِنَ الْبَعِيرِ قَرَدَةً فَجَعَلَهَا بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ هَذَا غَنَائِمُكُمْ فَأَدُّوا الْخَيْطَ وَالْمِخْيَطَ فَإِنَّ الْغُلُولَ عَارٌ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَشَنَارٌ وَنَارٌ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us facing a camel from the spoils of war, then he took a piece of wool from the camel and placed it between his two fingers and said: O people, this is your booty, so return the thread and the needle, for embezzlement is a disgrace upon its perpetrator on the Day of Resurrection, and a shame and a fire.
