وَحَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ: نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ: نَا مَعْقِلٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَوَضَّأَ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَتَرَكَ مَوْضِعَ ظُفُرٍ عَلَى قَدَمِهِ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ الْمَاءُ، فَأَبْصَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: ارْجِعْ فَأَحْسِنْ وُضُوءَكَ فَرَجَعَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى

✧ A man performed wudu for the Zuhr prayer but left a spot the size of a fingernail on his foot that the water did not reach. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him and said: “Go back and perfect your wudu.” So he went back, performed wudu, and prayed.
