حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

خَصْلَتَانِ مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهِمَا أَدْخَلَتَاهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَهُمَا يَسِيرٌ، وَمَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهِمَا قَلِيلٌ: تَحْمَدُ اللهَ وَتُكَبِّرُهُ وَتُسَبِّحُهُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ عَشْرًا عَشْرًا، وَإِذَا آوَيْتَ إِلَى مَضْجَعِكَ تُسَبِّحُ اللهَ وَتَحْمَدُهُ وَتُكَبِّرُهُ مِائَةً فَتِلْكَ خَمْسُونَ وَمِائَتَانِ بِاللِّسَانِ، وَأَلْفَانِ وَخَمْسُمِائَةٍ فِي الْمِيزَانِ، فَأَيُّكُمْ يَعْمَلُ فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ أَلْفَيْنِ وَخَمْسَمِائَةِ سَيِّئَةٍ ؟ " قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهِمَا قَلِيلٌ ؟ قَالَ: " يَأْتِي أَحَدَكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَيُذَكِّرُهُ حَاجَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَلَا يَقُولُهَا، وَيَأْتِيهِ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ فَيُنَوِّمُهُ وَلَا يَقُولُهَا

Translation

✧ Two qualities, whoever guards them will enter Paradise; they are easy, but those who act upon them are few: You praise Allah, exalt Him, and glorify Him after every prescribed prayer ten times each, and when you retire to your bed you glorify Allah, praise Him, and exalt Him one hundred times. That is two hundred and fifty on the tongue, and two thousand five hundred in the balance. Which of you commits two thousand five hundred sins in a day and night?" They said: "How is it that those who act upon them are few?" He said: "Satan comes to one of you during his prayer and reminds him of such-and-such need, so he does not say them; and he comes to him at his sleep and puts him to sleep, so he does not say them."
