حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، كَانَ يَقُولُ:

مَنْ أَصْبَحَ جُنُبًا فِي رَمَضَانَ فَلَا صِيَامَ لَهُ، فَأَرْسَلَ مَرْوَانُ، إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا فِي رَمَضَانَ، ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ وَيَصُومُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا

✧ Whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) during Ramadan, there is no fasting for him. Marwan sent to Umm Salamah to ask her about that, and she said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up junub during Ramadan, then he would perform ghusl and fast.” He sent that to Abu Hurayrah, and he said: “Indeed,”
