✧ The Prophet ﷺ performed a prayer and lengthened it. It was said to him: You lengthened it. He said: I prayed a prayer of hope and fear. I asked my Lord for three things, and He granted me two and withheld one. I asked Him not to punish them with a punishment with which He destroyed those before them, and He granted it. I asked Him not to set on them an enemy who would ravage them, and He granted it. I asked Him not to make them into sects and make some taste the might of others, and He withheld it.
