حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَثْمَةَ قَالَ: نَا مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي عَمَّتِي قَرِيبَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا كَرِيمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمِقْدَادِ، عَنْ ضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو لَهُمْ - يَعْنِي لِأَزْوَاجِهِ - الصِّدِّيقِينَ، قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَنِ الصِّدِّيقُونَ، أَهُمْ أَوْلَادُ الَّذِينَ يَهْلِكُونَ، وَهُمْ صِغَارٌ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " الصِّدِّيقُونَ هُمُ الْمُتَصَدِّقُونَ

Translation

✧ I do hope for them—meaning his wives—the siddiqun. We said: O Messenger of God, who are the siddiqun? Are they the children of those who die while they are young? The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The siddiqun are those who give charity."
