حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو كُدَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الشَّبَهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِذَا عَلَا مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلَبَ الشَّبَهُ، وَإِذَا عَلَا مَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ غَلَبَ الشَّبَهُ

✧ A man from the People of the Book came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about resemblance. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'If the man's fluid prevails, the resemblance is dominated; and if the woman's fluid prevails, the resemblance is dominated.'
