حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا فِطْرٌ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ: خَمْسٌ قَدْ مَضَيْنَ: انْشِقَاقُ الْقَمَرِ، و الم غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ، و يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ، و يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَى، وَيَوْمَ بَدْرٍ

✧ I heard Ibn Mas'ud say: Five things have passed: the splitting of the moon, alif lam mim, the Romans have been defeated, the day when the sky will bring a visible smoke, the day We shall seize with the greatest seizure, and the Day of Badr.
