✧ I approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was on an elevated piece of ground until I sat facing his face, or with my face at his knees. I seized the opportunity of being alone with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which sin is greatest?' He turned away from me until I said it three times. Then he turned his face and said: 'That you set up a rival to Allah while He created you.' He said: 'Then I said: Then what?' He said: 'That you kill your child for fear that he might eat or be fed with you.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, then what?' or 'Then what?' He said: 'That you commit adultery with your neighbor's wife.' Then he stretched out his hand and recited: 'And those who do not call upon another god with Allah.'
