✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to give charity, and that coincided with wealth I had, so I said: Today I will outdo Abu Bakr if I ever outdo him one day. I brought half of my wealth, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'What have you left for your family?' I said: 'The like of it.' Abu Bakr brought all the wealth he had, and he said: 'O Abu Bakr, what have you left for your family?' He said: 'Allah and His Messenger.' I said: 'I will never race you in anything ever again.'
