حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، قَالَ: نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:

كَانَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ مُحَرَّرٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَقَدِمَ سَبْيٌ مِنْ بَلْعَنْبَرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنْ سَرَّكِ أَنْ تَفِيَ نَذْرَكِ فَاعْتِقِي مِنْ هَذَا

Translation

✧ ʿA'ishah had a vow to free a slave from the descendants of Ismaʿil. A group of captives from Balʿanbar arrived, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “If it pleases you to fulfill your vow, then free one of these.”
