✧ We used to say in the prayer: 'Peace be upon Allah, peace be upon so-and-so, peace be upon so-and-so.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah is al-Salam, so say: Greetings are for Allah, and prayers and good things. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. For when you say: Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah, it reaches every righteous servant of Allah between the heaven and the earth. Then let each of you choose whatever supplication he likes.'
