machine translationI asked my father about a hadith that al-Aʿmash and Fuḍayl b. ʿAmr narrated from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, and that Ibn Abjar, ʿAbd al-Malik b. Saʿīd b. Ḥayyān b. Abjar, narrated from Abū Maʿshar, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, from ʿAbdullāh, as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Which of the two is more correct? He said: Al-Aʿmash and Fuḍayl are more precise (aḍbaṭ) than Abū Maʿshar, and it is closer to being correct.
