حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ قَالَ: نَا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: نَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعَلِّمُنَا الِاسْتِخَارَةَ: " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ، فَإِنَّهُمَا بِيَدِكَ لَا يَمْلِكُهُمَا أَحَدٌ سِوَاكَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَتَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ لِلْأَمْرِ الَّذِي تُرِيدُهُ خَيْرًا لِي فِي دِينِي، وَفِي دُنْيَايَ، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَوَفِّقْهُ وَسَهِّلْهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ خَيْرًا فَوَفِّقْنِي لِلْخَيْرِ، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: حَيْثُ كَانَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us istikharah: "O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek Your power through Your power, and I ask You of Your bounty and mercy, for they are in Your hand, no one else possesses them. You know and I do not know, and You have power and I have no power, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if this matter is for the matter You intend as good for me in my religion and in my worldly life — I think he said: and the outcome of my affair — then make it possible and easy for me, and if other than that is better, then guide me to the good — I think he said: wherever it may be."
