✧ May Allah curse the women who tattoo and those who have themselves tattooed, the women who pluck [eyebrows], and the women who file their teeth for beauty, altering Allah's creation. He said: This reached a woman from Banu Asad called Umm Ya'qub. She came to him and said, 'What is this hadith that has reached me from you?' She mentioned it to him. He said, 'Should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed, and it is in the Book of Allah?'

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, from the Prophet ﷺ: "May Allah curse the women who tattoo." He said: Al-Aʿmash and Manṣūr narrate it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Jarīr b. Ḥāzim narrated it from al-Aʿmash with a connected chain, and Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. al-Faḍl al-Rāsibī corroborated him, from al-Firyābī, from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash. Others narrate it from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAbdullāh. As for Manṣūr, there is no disagreement about him: he narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir differed from him and narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from Umm Yaʿqūb al-Asadiyyah, from ʿAbdullāh. The correct version is what Manṣūr said.

machine translationHe was also asked about the hadith of Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. He said: Dāwūd b. Rashīd narrated it from Abū Ḥafṣ al-Abbār, from Manṣūr, from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. This is an error; the correct version is from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh.
