✧ We visited Abu Ubayda b. al-Jarrah while he was ill, and at his head was his wife Tuhayfa. We said: How did Abu Ubayda spend the night? She said: He spent the night with reward. He raised his head and said: I did not spend the night with reward. We fell silent. He said: What is the matter with you that you do not ask me? We said: Your words surprised us. He said: Indeed I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The illness of a believer is a remission that removes his sins.
