✧ I said: O Messenger of God, which of the martyrs is most honored by God? He said: A man who stood before a tyrannical ruler, commanded him to do good and forbade him from evil, and the ruler killed him. It was said: Then which of the people is most severe in punishment? He said: "A man who killed a prophet or killed a man who commanded him to do good or forbade him from evil." Then he recited: "And they kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people, so give them tidings of a painful punishment." Then he said: "O Abu Ubayda, the Children of Israel killed forty-three prophets in a single hour, and one hundred and twelve men from the worshipers of the Children of Israel stood up, commanded good and forbade evil, and they were all killed."
