وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَا: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا، يَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ ذَا الْمَعَارِجِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ ذُو الْمَعَارِجِ، وَلَكِنْ لَمْ نَكُنْ نَقُولُ هَذَا مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا

Translation

✧ He heard a man saying: 'Labbayka dha al-ma'arij (Here I am, O Lord of the Ascending Ways).' He said: 'Indeed He is the Lord of the Ascending Ways, but we did not used to say this with our Prophet.'
