✧ I marvel at Allah's decree for the believer: if good befalls him, he praises Allah and is grateful; and if a calamity befalls him, he praises Allah and is patient. Thus the believer is rewarded in everything, even in the morsel he lifts to his wife's mouth.

machine translationWe do not know it to be narrated from Saʿd with a sound chain except by this route. It has also been narrated from Ṣuhayb and from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ. We have mentioned this hadith from the narration of al-Aʿmash, from Abū Isḥāq, from Muṣʿab, from his father. The correct version is what Shuʿbah and al-Thawrī narrated from Abū Isḥāq, from al-ʿAyzār, from ʿUmar b. Saʿd, from his father.
