✧ A man came to the prayer while the Prophet ﷺ was leading us in prayer. When he reached the row, he said: 'O Allah, grant me the best of what You grant Your righteous servants.' When the Prophet ﷺ finished the prayer, he said: 'Who spoke just now?' The man said: 'I did.' He said: 'Then your horse will be hamstrung and you will be martyred in the path of Allah.'

machine translationAl-Darāwardī narrates it from Suhayl b. Abī Ṣāliḥ, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd. There is disagreement about al-Darāwardī regarding it: Ibrāhīm b. Ḥamzah, Khālid b. Khidāsh, Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī and others narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. But Ḍirār b. Ṣurad and al-Ḥimmānī contradicted them, and narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, and said: from Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. The first statement is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
