حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

" لَا يَعْطِفُ عَلَيْكُنَّ بَعْدِي إِلَّا الصَّادِقُونَ الصَّابِرُونَ. قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ: فَبِعْتُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، شَيْئًا قَدْ سَمَّاهُ بِأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفًا فَقَسَمْتُهُ بَيْنَهُنَّ يَعْنِي بَيْنَ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَرَحِمَهُنَّ اللهُ

✧ “After me, none will care for you except the truthful, patient ones.” Abd al-Rahman said: So I sold something—he named it—to Abdullah b. Sa'd b. Abi Sarh for forty thousand and divided it among them, meaning among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, may Allah have mercy on them.
