machine translationYaḥyā b. Bukayr and Ādam b. Abī Iyās contradicted him, and they narrated it from al-Layth, from ʿUqayl, from al-Zuhrī, from Salamah b. Abī Salamah, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ as a mursal report, and this is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) one. I said: But Ibn al-Mubārak narrated it from Ḥaywah b. Shurayḥ, from ʿUqayl b. Khālid, from Salamah b. Abī Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, without Ibn Shihāb in it. He said: And the statement of Ibn al-Mubārak is closer to the correct.
