حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:
إِنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ: إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ يَقْطَعُهَا الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ، فَرُبَّمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ، فَيَكُونُ لِي الْحَاجَةُ فَأَنْسَلُّ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلَيِ السَّرِيرِ كَرَاهِيَةَ

✧ Some people say that prayer is invalidated by a dog, a donkey, and a woman. Many times I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night while I was between him and the qiblah. If I needed something, I would slip away from the foot of the bed, disliking [to disturb him].
