✧ When Ja'far's death was announced, it was said to the Prophet ﷺ: "Would you prohibit weeping?" He said—I think he said to a man: "Go to them and prohibit them." He said: "I went, but they did not obey me. Then a second time, then a third time. He said: 'Return to them and throw dust in their faces.'"—and I was peeking through the crack of the door—so I said to the man: "May Allah rub your nose in the dust! By Allah, you have not left the Messenger of Allah alone, and you are not going to do it"—meaning, what he commanded him to do, to throw dust in their faces.
