حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: / 151 - نَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ ابْنُ بِنْتِ أَزْهَرَ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ:
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ النَّوْمَ جَمَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَنَفَثَ فِيهِمَا ثُمَّ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ، ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَرَأْسَهُ وَسَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ wanted to sleep, he would join his hands, blow into them, and then recite: “Say, He is God, the One,” “Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,” and “Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn.” Then he would wipe with them his face, his head, and the rest of his body.
