✧ Salma, the freedwoman of the Messenger of God ﷺ and wife of Abu Rafi', came and said: 'He beats her.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said to Abu Rafi': 'What is the matter between you and her?' He said: 'She annoys me, O Messenger of God.' She said: 'By God, O Messenger of God, I do not annoy him with anything. But he broke wind while praying, and I said to him: O Abu Rafi', the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded the Muslims that if one of them passes wind, he should perform ablution. So he got up and beat me.' She said: The Messenger of God began to laugh and said: 'O Abu Rafi', she only commanded you to do good.'
