When the House was demolished after Jurhum, Quraysh rebuilt it. When they wanted to put the Stone in place, they quarrelled over who should place it, and they agreed that it should be placed by the first person to enter through this gate. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered through the gate of Banū Shaybah. He ordered a cloth, and he placed the Stone in the middle of it, and he ordered each clan to take hold of a part of the cloth and lift it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it and placed it.
