( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَخْتَوَيْهِ الْعَدْلُ، ثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى، أَخْبَرَنِي نُبَيْهُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ:

اشْتَكَى عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ عَيْنَيْهِ بِمَلَلٍ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ يَسْأَلُهُ: أَيُّ شَيْءٍ يُعَالِجُهُ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ: اضْمِدْهُمَا بِالصَّبِرِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ يُخْبِرُ بِذَلِكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: يُضَمِّدُهُمَا بِالصَّبِرِ
