A woman asked ʿĀʾishah (may God be pleased with her): "What is the matter with the menstruating woman, that she makes up the fasts but does not make up the prayers?" She said to her: "Are you a Ḥarūrī?" She said: "I am not a Ḥarūrī, but I am asking!" She said: "That used to happen to us in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and we were commanded to make up the fasts, and we were not commanded to make up the prayers."
