( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، أَنْبَأَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ مَالِكًا عَنْ تَفْضِيضِ الْمَصَاحِفِ، فَأَخْرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مُصْحَفًا، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي:
أَنَّهُمْ جَمَعُوا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ عُثْمَانَ ؓ، وَأَنَّهُمْ فَضَّضُوا الْمَصَاحِفَ عَلَى هَذَا أَوْ نَحْوِهِ
